Chris Chong

Hi everyone - I’m Chris! I’m currently studying Econ and Business at SSEES. I’m from Malaysia with Chinese roots however have spent my life growning up in the UK so you’ll have to hit me up if you want to test my level of mandarin.

I would like to stand for this position because I spend at least half my time either playing or watching sports e.g basketball/football (ManU fan don't hate), so why not spend more time doing something I’m passionate about. Being a part of UCL Badminton 1st team, I have experience in both taking part in and organising sporting events, therefore I believe I possess the necessary skills to fulfil this role.

I believe that as well as staying active and healthy, engaging in sports is an excellent way to make friends within the society, especially in a sober environment for once?. I hope to find a way to make sport accessible to all members of the society, regardless of fitness/skill level, as it’s all about enjoying the activity at the end of the day. If anyone has suggestions for any type of sport events or improvements I’ll be open to feedback (otherwise you may be stuck with only badminton events).

As this role comes with being the welfare officer, I will also be more than happy to help out and open to talk about any struggles or questions on university life that you may have :)
