Abacus Society: Events Director

Hi guys I'm Esther and I'm running for Events Director this year! I would love to be elected for this role as I love hanging out and socialising with my friends, so it would be really nice to have the opportunity to plan many fun events in the future to allow the same for everyone :) Being a fresher this year, I was very lucky to have had the opportunity of going to so many Abacus events. Not knowing what to expect like every other fresher out there, I couldn't have asked for a more inclusive yet exciting society where I was introduced to so many people from different backgrounds. Having had previous experience of leading and winning the Young Enterprise Group Competition at school, I was tasked with organising events and activities starting only with a small sum of money and then aiming to raise as much as possible for charity. From that, I've learnt the qualities of what a strong leader should be, and although only 5'1 in height, I am definitely not afraid of voicing out my opinions and saying what I think should be the best thing to do. Next year, I hope to be able to give back what the Abacus Society has given me, and I would love to try my hardest to work with the rest of the committee to bring you guys the best events you'll have ever been to!
