Christian Chambers (he/him)
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I want John Adams to feel like home: welcoming, safe, well-run, and full of low-cost ways to meet people. As a two year resident, I know John Adams, what works (and what doesn’t), and where delays happen. I’ll be a direct bridge between residents and halls: set a clear escalation ladder, log every case, and hold both sides accountable until it’s resolved. Each month I’ll publish “What we heard / What we did” so issues don’t disappear. I’ll meet regularly with accommodation staff, gather evidence-based feedback, and keep open lines with the SU for instant signposting when problems arise.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I have extensive experience delivering events and supporting communities, from Remembrance services to charity balls and awareness days.  As co-runner of a trauma-informed mental-health camp, I have supported survivors in women’s shelters and displaced people in Calais, focusing on dignity, boundaries, and safeguarding. I am an experienced public speaker, as a former Head Boy and board governor, I have represented ideas to senior staff and turned feedback into action. My hospitality experience has taught me to remain calm under pressure and focused on delivering value within tight budgets.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

You’d be choosing someone who already knows John Adams from the inside and cares deeply about the people in it. I’ll bring a warm, visible presence on the floors, a programme that suits different energies and budgets, and fast, accountable problem-solving when things go wrong. My track record spans delivering complex events,  safeguarding and community volunteering, formal representation, so you know I get things done.  If you want John Adams to be inclusive, lively, and genuinely supportive, by someone who’s lived here twice and knows how to turn feedback into action, vote for me.
