There are 3 core reasons which stem my motivations:

1. The opportunity to make a positive impact on the engineering community by organizing events that promote knowledge sharing, professional development, and networking opportunities.

2. The chance to develop leadership and project management skills while working on a team to create events that benefit the wider engineering student body.

3. The ability to promote diversity and inclusivity within the engineering field through the planning and execution of events that highlight underrepresented voices and perspectives.

Tolu J Elesin

as an events executive for an engineering society at UCL, my main objective would be to provide a wide range of engaging and exciting events that cater to the diverse interests of all students within the engineering community. This would include organizing interactive workshops and talks with multiple companies and startups to give UCL students an opportunity to gain valuable insights into different fields of engineering and to connect with potential employers.

I would strive to create a balance of social and professional events, such as networking opportunities and pub socials, to help students develop their soft skills and to expand their professional network. I would also work closely with other student groups, departments, and organizations within the university to create opportunities for collaboration and cross-disciplinary learning.

In addition, I would make sure to actively engage with the society members and to gather their feedback to ensure that our events align with their interests and needs. I would also be open to new ideas and suggestions to create a sense of ownership among the society members and to make our events more inclusive and accessible to all.

Overall, my goal would be to create a positive and meaningful experience for all members of the engineering society by providing them with the best possible events and opportunities that align with their interests and career aspirations.
