Volleyball Club: Social Secretary

Hi my name's Aneka and I'm going for social sec. I'm a first year and joined the volleyball society in October. I am running for social sec to make volleyball fun and I'll run loads of events throughout the year and do more sports nights at Phineas. I really enjoy the social sessions that volleyball does and would like to do some events outside of volleyball, which would be a mix of drinking events and non-drinking events. Being a member of the UCL Volleyball Men's team this year, I feel that there is definitely room for improvement in terms of the social events that the volleyball club organizes. Right now, the different teams in the volleyball club are separate and do not really interact much with one another. Most of the people I know from the other teams/social players are people that I meet somewhere else and happen to be from the club too.

If I were elected as social secretary, I will change this by working together with the already elected committee to include more social gatherings which are accessible to general population of the volleyball club. I believe my connection to people from the different teams will allow me to reach out to more people in the club so that we can facilitate interaction between the various groups in the volleyball club.
