Rare FM: Head of Events

Hi, I'm Arseniy!

I've spent quite a lot of time in the Rare FM studio, mostly working on the EMS show and appearing as a guest DJ on a couple of other shows. I have played at a variety of events, including Synergy, and helped with the operation of some smaller events such as the Phineas Open Decks, which tend to house a fair amount of Rare DJs. In that time, I've met and played with some insanely talented DJs, and while broadcasting from the studio is an incredible opportunity for the Rare DJs, there is really nothing that can replicate the experience of playing music to a room packed with people who are having as much fun as you are. 

While I recognise that not every DJ in the society is interested in playing live, and completely sympathise with that, I also believe that Rare FM should provide as many opportunities and as much support as possible for those that want to go down that route.

Going from playing alone in a studio to playing for even as little as 10 people is already a huge step, and it's not an easy one for most. So, I propose a series of smaller events hosted by Rare FM, designed for those with little or no experience to take that first step, with support from me or other willing DJs, if needed - it gets so much easier once you know you can do it. 

Also, I play guitar and love rock, folk and lots more - honestly more so than the electronic music I DJ - so I would be 100% open to organising events for musicians who aren't DJs, if there is a demand for that.
