Hi everyone :)
I’m Beca, a first-year anthropology student with a passion for art and design. Designing and illustrating for Pi media over the past year has been an incredible experience and provided great insight as to how the publication is created. I would love to have the opportunity to be a part of defining the graphic experience of Pi and ensuring that the incredible quality of literature is echoed by its visual accompaniments.
Having completed a foundation degree in art and design, I am well-versed in the editing software required to layout the magazine. I am no stranger to balancing work with my studies, and all steps of the production process will be organised well in advance so that all contributors feel they have adequate time to construct their work in a way they are happy with.
Over the past few years, the visual aspects of Pi magazine have flourished. I will ensure this production quality continues, whilst expanding awareness of design and illustration opportunities, to maximise the pool of creative talent. I want to improve communication between contributors and will schedule meetings between designers, illustrators, and authors so that all parties feel their work is expressed in accordance with their creative visions. It is my priority that all team members feel heard, so that Pi can be as visually vibrant and exiting as possible!
I would be thrilled to be your design officer so we can work together to push the boundaries of Pi magazine’s potential, and create some amazing issues!
