Hi! I am Kate from the Czech Republic and next year, I will be a 2nd-year straight physics student and my favourite areas of physics are quantum and particle physics. I play volleyball for UCL and I enjoy learning languages and stand-up comedy. I would love to have the honour of being your Vice-President next year!

I have been a member of the Physics Society and several other science-related societies at UCL, including an Events Executive at one of them. I attended a large number of scientific events and talks, even at other unis. Therefore I have a good idea about which direction to head the society together with the next-year’s President and the whole Committee team to make it a place where you can gain new physics knowledge but at the same time a space for fellow physics students and physics enthusiasts to make friends and socialise.

I would like for the Physics Society to be more active than it was this year, especially by hosting more events. For example, I would love to show physics students and students from related fields all the career options out there that studying physics brings. Options are wide, yet many students aren’t unfortunately familiar with them. Collaborating with other similarly-focused societies, such as this year during the STEM ball event, is also an area that I would like to strengthen. I am a fan of the new MAPS merch that came out this April and I would like to support this initiative further.

Thank you for your vote!
