Tom Bonaert

Having been part of the committee for the past year of this slowly reviving society following yet another challenging year, I have realised the need to encompass a broader net of young liberals. It is evident that our society has lacked considerable turnout, but following the events I was able to organise alongside the committee with two former Lib Dem government ministers and having met some of you, and I know there is great room for potential. Additionally, I am currently in talks with other liberal university societies as to broaden our social events and gain greater participation.

I was General secretary and have taken part in local canvassing efforts during this years local elections so I know what needs to be done!

If elected I wish to:

• Make sure we have collaborative inter-society social events
• Organise events with current and former lib Dem campaigners and incumbents for those who want to get stuck in!
• Broaden events to non-political figures to open our horizons on controversial issues.
