Participating in this year's UNICEF society fundraising bake sale has been an event that made me realize my enthusiasm for engaging in charity events and helping others, no matter how big or small my contribution can be. Being in the UNICEF society's committee would reflect my passion and determination in strengthening relationships within the society as well as between UCL and UNICEF, raising awareness and collectively building a university community where students can actively aid children in need through various means. The role of welfare officer of the UNICEF society, I believe, carries the responsibility of maintaining close contact with members of the society, representing them by actively encouraging and seeking improvements to the society. My previous volunteering experiences in tutoring children, and current volunteer work at Oxfam, have helped develop my organizational, listening and communication skills -- qualities that are vital as a welfare officer. I am excited to get to know members of the society who share a similar passion for promoting the rights of disadvantaged children and to find creative ways as a team to help drive the society in becoming a strong and positive force of change.  Having always been inspired by UNICEF's work, I believe that my positivity, enthusiasm and commitment to creating a difference in children's lives will develop the society and enhance awareness within our community.
