Participating in this year's UNICEF society fundraising bake sale has been an event that made me realize my enthusiasm for engaging in charity events and helping others, no matter how big or small my contribution can be. The role of social secretary of the UNICEF society, I believe, requires effective teamwork and organizational skills and sincere enthusiasm. It would be an amazing opportunity to collaborate with a team of like-minded people and help run both fun and educational social events to strengthen the bonds between members of the UNICEF society. Some ideas I have for future social events include karaoke nights, sports activities such as bowling and board game tournaments.  My previous volunteering experiences in tutoring children and my current volunteer work at Oxfam have all helped me developed my listening and organizational skills, as well as my keenness on giving back to the community. I am passionate and determined to help grow the society's role as a focal point between UCL and UNICEF, to strengthen the relationships between the society's members and build a community together where members can actively aid children in need.  Having always been inspired by UNICEF's work, I believe that my positivity, enthusiasm and commitment to creating a difference in children's lives will develop the UNICEF society and enhance awareness within our community.
