Election post
Participating in this year's fundraising bake sale has developed my enthusiasm for engaging in charity events and helping others, no matter how big or small my contribution can be. I am passionate and determined to strengthen the relationship between UCL and UNICEF, raise awareness and collectively build a community where students can actively aid children in need. The role of president of the UNICEF society, I believe, carries the responsibility of effective communication, listening, organizational skills and sincere enthusiasm. My previous volunteering experiences in tutoring children, leading my secondary school on projects like promoting minority rights, and my current volunteer work at Oxfam, have all helped me develop these skills and my keenness on giving back to the community. Being president of the society would be a valuable opportunity to actively help and engage with my peers on critical issues such as child education and immunization. I am excited to lead the society and work with UNICEF to find creative ways as a team to help drive the society in becoming a strong focal point between students and UNICEF, such as through educational talks and fun fundraising events like fun runs and bring-and-buy sales. Having always been inspired by UNICEF's work, I believe that my positivity, enthusiasm and commitment to creating a difference in children's lives will raise awareness and develop the society's role as a positive force of change to the world.
