Tom Bonaert

Hello everyone my name is Tom Bonaert and I am currently going into my 3rd year studying History, Politics and Economic. Having been a committee member of this newly revived society there has been an incredible injection of new life and with it new initiatives being drawn up following the silencing effects of the pandemic. As an avid volunteer myself (who has garnered experience in Lebanon, Scotland and more) I see my role as volunteer officer as continuing our ongoing initiative to launch Politeach. It is a volunteering scheme designed to engage young students into the overly cryptic field of politics, and hopefully inspire or at least make students aware of the impacts that politics has in their everyday lives. As part of this project I wish to include and motivate other within the society to take part and participate in our upcoming volunteering events as to turn our love for politics into something beneficial for others. Furthermore as part of the committee I also wish to hold certain talks in relation to the upcoming U.S mid-term elections in November, and successively invite politically non-aligned speakers to inform and spark conversations in relation to government and politics. I hope to see you all next year!
