Hi, I’m Celeste and I am a third-year Human Genetics MSci student. I hope to be Editor in Chief for Genetics Soc next year to share and learn more about different aspects of genetics and bring a collaborative aspect to science writing – which is so important in the world of research!

I’ve always been fascinated by all things genetics, and have recently developed an interest for the computational and experimental tools we use to study and annotate genomes. Because genetics can be such a wide field with so many different approaches and specialisations, I think Genetics Soc can play an important role in fostering conversations at the intersection of all these different aspects. As Editor in Chief with previous experience as president of the Gender and Feminism Society and in organising large-scale scientific conferences, I hope to support the society in creating a space where all members can share their interests, learn about new discoveries and meet like-minded people. In particular, providing a platform for science-related articles by GenSoc’s own members is so important to build community and provide new opportunities for members! As I enter my 4th year of genetics studies, my experience in both scientific and non-scientific writing will help create and curate an engaging online space to showcase GenSoc’s diversity and intersecting interests in genetics.

I hope you consider me as Editor in Chief for next year and vote for me! :)
