Hi, I’m Celeste! I am a third-year Human Genetics student and GenFem’s current president. I hope to become GenFem’s secretary next year to support GenFem in taking ever larger steps towards gender equality within and beyond UCL!

GenFem has been an incredible community, fostering inclusive activism and creating a safe space at the heart of campus. As secretary, I hope to handle the admin side of GenFem behind the scenes (exciting weekly newsletters, venue bookings, socials, etc.) to support next year’s president and committee in bringing a new vision and ideas to the society! My experience as president this year will allow me to be of particular help, from inter-society collaborations to dealing with the (many) ins and outs of Student’s Union admin.

Throughout the past two years, I have co-organised fundraisers for the charities Irise International, Mermaids and Women for Refugee Women, getting GenFem members (including myself) involved in eye-opening conversations about so many different feminist topics including gender & sexuality, menstrual taboos and more! I’ve loved the organisational aspects of working on committee and building a durable community, familiarising myself with the ins and outs of society admin that I would handle as GenFem’s secretary.

I look forward to a whole new year of GenFem events and hope you consider me as next year’s secretary! :)
