Steve Hong

Hi everyone, I’m Steve, and I am running for Vice-President. Having been involved in events of the society over the past year as well as gaining experience in society management and industries through various positions, I look forward to organising events that will help all of us to break into our professional careers.

If elected, I am going to:

  1. Helping the Science team to deliver weekly Python + Data Science workshops to prepare you for all necessary technical skills to enter the industry.
  2. Using my network in firms with data products, especially in finance, I would be well-lined up to reach out to new firms for sponsorship or bringing in guest speakers. I believe gaining a broad perspective of the industry would be extremely advantageous to choosing our future career path.
  3. Organise networking and career events with major firms and leaders, help members access placements, career prep workshops (incl spring & summer) and a regular newsletter

I will continuously reflect upon your feedback about the events so that I can create a well-tailored experience for all of us. I look forward to continue to serve as your Vice-President, and meeting to at the future events soon.

Olga Drygala

What are my goals as a Vice President?

  • Organising deep dives into Data Science in partnerships with data/tech companies
