Hey! I'm Karen, I was a Marketing FYR at DSS this year. 

As a Marketing FYR I had the opportunity to partake in a humbling experience where I was able to cultivate my interests in producing creative posts on our social media platforms. I also had the honor to be part of a successful event, "Amazon Web Services - Solutions Architect", where I noticed how such event has been fruitful to our DSS community. This has encouraged me to hold more inspiring events in the future.  

This year I also had the opportunity to be part of the Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering Marketing Division as a Biomedical Engineering Student Ambassador. I've noticed what intrigued and concerned new students who consider taking the course. This has given me a perspective of what kind of support they may need, and tried my best to reassure them of it. Likewise, this experience has helped me to be more aware of what our DSS community needs and is interested in. 

Seeing the potential of DSS, I strive to expand the prospects of DSS by introducing more collaborations with other societies and organisations, and reach further data science enthusiasts. To provide more support and opportunities to DSS community as we inspire each other and grow together along the process.

I look forward to realise the possibilities DSS can offer and cultivate our tight knit DSS community. Come enjoy the exciting opportunities DSS will be offering this year with me :)
