In my term as both Faculty of SHS Undergraduate Rep and experience within the GCAB, I have developed sufficient leading skills for this position. Additionally, my participation in numerous business competition including but not limited to DECA, Global Case Competition, ICAEWs have prepared me to fully lead a team of aspiring consultants into the world of case analysing from fundamentals to advanced. Personally, I am a stock enthusiast investing myself. Though not making profits 100% of the time, I gained experience to analysing business from a micro level.
This includes but isnt limited to how tracking financial records of the firm, how to research using Python on sentimental analysis, tech side of how stock trends indicate market confidence..... Sometimes consulting require unique, sharp perspectives to dissect and identify issues within the company. I can provide technicals teaching that could enhance and prove these thoughts. Choosing me as VP of case studies makes me an addition to the consulting society.
I’d be thrilled to be Consulting Society’s VP of Case Studies and help lead one of UCL’s most dynamic societies.
I have really valued being part of Consulting Society’s network, attending the various workshops and talks organised by the team. Further, winning the Social Impact Case Study Competition, whereby my team devised an EdTech solution to solve the challenge of educational inequality in Boston, was insightful. My experience as a participant has illuminated the crucial aspects of case studies that students find most valuable and challenging, which would help me to aptly cater workshops and training.
My leadership skills, developed through my past experiences organising events, are further invaluable to the role. I organised talks as Secretary of my school’s History Society and invited speakers, developing communication skills. I also organised and performed in school concerts as leader of Music Society, developing time-management skills which I have also been honing through upholding society commitments at UCL, being Freshers’ Rep of Live Music Society and rehearsing for shows.
As part of the Consulting Society committee my ambition would be to organise more case study workshops and competitions targeting a variety of engaging and relevant issues and encourage more students to innovate solutions.
I am eager to continue learning from my fellow students through Consulting Society and I hope to see you as VP of Case Studies soon!
