Basketball Club (Men's): Kit and Equipment Officer

Hi, my name is Jasper Kennett. Following a great year with the 3rd team in 2021/2022 I left London to do a year abroad at UChicago, which is why I may not have had the chance to meet you all. However, my love for basketball and appreciation for this great club has not faded. I look forward to returning to London this month.

After battling through 1v1s, pickup 5s, and intramural league, in the cold unforgiving streets of Chicago, I have developed a far deeper understanding for the huge disparity in the resources offered to US vs UK student basketball clubs.

If elected for this role it will be my honour to try to help fix this imbalance and insure that each member receives the proper kit & equipment necessary to realise their potential whilst playing basketball at UCL. This is vital for making the most of training/game time, as well as for maintaining the club’s aesthetic.

I will also make sure to work closely with other committee members to ensure the broadening of merchandise and kit offerings, which were a huge hit over the last 2 years, as well as to make sure that this process is timely, organised, and well communicated.

After managing a team for UCLIF, running multiple charity events, and interning in finance, I have a strong appreciation for administrative roles in teams. My organisational skills and drive to see this club succeed will allow me to best serve you as Kit & Equipment Officer.
