Oliver C W Lee

Hi everyone!! I'm Oliver Lee (I'm in the dark-coloured sweater) and I study History, Politics and Economics.

I feel suited to the role of treasurer as I have a wealth of experience both playing and managing badminton-related activities. I have played extensively since Year 6 and have represented Myanmar at the Junior Level. For UCL, I mainly play Doubles for the 1sts and have built great rapport with the current team members, social members and the committee. Having talked to the current Committee as well as club members, I will endeavour to use my position as treasurer to put more effort and funds towards social activities and badminton excursions.

As treasurer, I can guarantee that the social of the year will be a trip to the All England Tournament for the whole club! Also, I will do my best to supply team merchandise to as many members of the club as possible.

Before UCL, I had served as the team captain for my school for 2 years, and handled club finances for 3 years. I will continue to work closely with the committee as past treasurers have done, but also engage more closely with all club members to find out their needs and wants. All members will be more than welcome to give me input throughout the year on exactly what they think would make the club a better environment.

Finally, I am sure that with your vote, I will be able to put club funds to more efficient use than ever before, and expand the Badminton presence in UCL.

Joe Wong

Hi everyone! My name is Joe and I'm a first-year Mechanical Engineering Student applying for the treasurer role. I love playing badminton with friends, and I wish to share my passion with members of this society.

As a founder of my badminton club in high school, I aim to continue building a society where people can de-stress, socialize, and have fun. I believe my experience in a very technical degree will also aid my role in managing expenses.

My goal is to create an exciting atmosphere for the people around me. If elected, my priority will be to maintain or lower membership fees. Additionally, I aim to host longer sessions on weekends, and hopefully reduce the number of people per court.

I hope that I have all of your support in growing this amazing society for the upcoming year!
