Autism Society: Welfare Officer

Hey! My name is Danilo, a fellow autistic student at UCL, and I would love to be your president for the Autism Society! I have been on the committee for this past year as two roles (first treasurer and then LGBTQ+ Rep) and am currently the president - this society is very special to me, having been one of the first places where I made friends last year. As your welfare officer I will ensure that there continue to be weekly meetups - both online and in person - throughout the year to help all of our members and autistic students. I also want to help the transition from the committee of this year's to the committee of next year's, and I will do anything I can to make the transition as smooth as possible so we can make all committee members and members of the society as happy as possible. Additionally, I want to make sure that all members feel accommodated and that their feedback is heard and that necessary changes are made. I am also working on creating more support and support spaces for autistic students. I also want to help create more collabs next year (such as with the LGBT+ Network and the DSN, along with societies such as the Cats Society) and cater to all members' need. I also will be there for members and support them any way that I can, however big or small any problems are - I really want to help our members any way that I can, and I will do this by checking in regularly and helping create more autistic friendly places on campus.
