I believe that societies in general are still finding their feet after the COVID restrictions have finally been completely lifted. One of the sectors of the society that would have been greatest hit by these restrictions are events. Last year was a huge improvement on the year before in terms of available opportunities but I still feel like the ACS can take it up a notch to really achieve the turnouts that get people talking!
My interests lie purely in supplying the society demands. If people give feedback on an event we have hosted or a new concept suggested, what can we now do better? If people like an event we have done, can we maybe offer something similar again? I have my own ideas such as regular themed events (similar to the ball we had last year), Black History Month events (Quizzes, debates, country themed events also such as maybe cuisine tasting), a speed dating show (perhaps in addition to Take Me Out), and a Sports Day (with mixed relay teams as well as individual events), but at the end of the day it is all about what the people want.
I am someone who has great contacts in different areas that a relevant to events, clubs, DJs and social media personalities which will all come in handy, and this is a unique selling point that I believe puts me in the position to be able to set up some attention grabbing events and ideas!
Hi all, my name is Toni and I'm a first year Natural Sciences Student.
Attending University in London has given me the unique opportunity to really involve myself in the events scene here. I want to run for Events officer so that I can connect university students at UCL, to the emerging creative scene in London.
Vote for me, there's literally no-one else running.
