Keira Suain

I am standing for Vice President because I want to play a central role in shaping MedSoc into a more inclusive, ambitious and impactful society.

Through my experience in Surgical Society, where I led the organisation of a widening participation conference for 60 state school students at no cost, I have developed the skills needed to deliver large-scale and purposeful events. This required coordinating logistics, securing support, and ensuring accessibility, experience that I would bring to expanding MedSoc’s key initiatives. I am confident in my ability to not only maintain existing projects, but grow them into high-impact opportunities for students.

I am particularly motivated to strengthen MedSoc’s role in widening participation and representation within UCL’s medical community. I want to build initiatives that actively engage underrepresented groups, while also building on platforms such as the alumni network and Future of Medicine Panel Series to showcase diverse pathways and voices.

Alongside this, I would work closely with the President to ensure the smooth running of the society and support committee members in delivering their own ideas. I would bring collaboration, clear communication and proactive leadership.

Ultimately, I am standing because I want to make a tangible difference, both in how MedSoc operates, and in who it reaches.
