Having felt alone and unseen when I first moved to university, I'm so grateful for the warmth and kindness which GenFem extended towards me the first time I plucked up the courage to go by myself midway through my first year. By chance (or feminist fate???), I met some of my best friends in meetings, and so it's really important to me that the community lives on for future generations of lost little freshers.

As an aspiring journalist, I'd love to take on the responsibility of GenFem's publications and am running for both Secretary and Blog Editor positions. I think that the blog and newsletter are really important ways of keeping the society as a presence in our lives between meetings, and as well as helping to keep members inspired and connected. I'd like to see GenFem have its own Substack page, and to foster a close relationship between themes discussed in meetings and themes written about in the blog/newsletter. I'd also like to diversify the blog to include members' photography and artwork, and would seek to achieve this by collaborating with UCL's arts societies to give GenFem some opportunities for creative sessions!!

I'd be so excited for the chance to extend the Monday evening support and companionship to the society's online spaces, and more generally to give back to the community before I graduate next year!

Lots of love from Anoushka xxxx
