Hi! I’m Silvia and I’m running for Fencing Club’s Welfare Officer. I am committed to ensuring the welfare of all the club’s members.

Fencing has been super fun for me during my first year at university, and I would love to ensure that next year all members of the club are able to enjoy fencing to the fullest. I am dedicated to preventing harassment and bullying within the club and ensuring everyone feels included at all moments.

I am happy to be a contact for anyone who needs support or a kind, listening ear, as well as a moderator to ensure conversations remain civil and polite - the piste is the real place to battle things out!

I am eager to collaborate with other committee members to supervise socials and organise events, more specifically welfare events such as ‘cake and chill’ events where people can cool down after stressful university work weeks and enjoy some dessert (like sticky toffee pudding). I would be pleased to represent the women of the society as the women’s officer alongside the welfare officer, ensuring all events remain inclusive for members of all genders.
