Why I'm running

As this year's First Year Representative in Internal Relations, I've seen up close how the society works and where alumni engagement can go further. I'm running for Director of Internal Relations to make the insights of those who once sat in Logan Hall genuinely useful to UCL Economics students, especially first years still figuring out what comes next.

What I'd build on

  • The flagship alumni networking event. Use feedback from students and past committees to sharpen the format, speaker mix, and follow-up.
  • Our alumni network. Keep strong ties with past speakers while reaching alumni beyond the usual finance route, spanning across consulting, policy, tech and academia.

What I'd introduce

  • Year-round student–alumni touchpoints, not just one big night. Term-time coffee chats, sector-specific Q&As, or a mentorship-style pairing for first years.
  • A clearer way for students to ask for guidance, so support doesn't come down to who happened to be in the room on one evening.

I've spent this year learning how Internal Relations runs from the inside, and I've genuinely enjoyed it. I'd like the chance to take what I've learnt and put it to use for the next cohort.
