Austrian Society: Treasurer

Servus!

My name is Alex, and I am proud to have lived in Vienna for 18 years prior to coming to UCL.

I am standing for treasurer because I would love to keep spreading Austrian culture across the university and help people engage with its history, traditions, and people! I believe the treasurer role is key to achieving this: good financial planning allows us to have more events, outings, and even collaborations with other societies in order for members to get as much as they can out of the society. 

Being away from home in London, I understand how important community is abroad; I'd love to help foster a society which both feels welcoming to fellow Austrian students, and accessible to anyone interested alike. I saw this integration firsthand during the meet-up with Austrian societies from KCL, Imperial, and Oxbridge this year, and would to continue the tradition next year to expand the reach further than just UCL. 

Whether it be apres-ski in the alps or ballroom dancing in the Hofburg, I look forward to spreading everything that Austria has to offer at UCL!

Hi everyone, I’m Diya and I’m excited to be running for Treasurer of Austrian Society!

Through previous experience leading various societies and projects, I’ve learned how to manage budgets, organize events, and work as part of teams effectively. I understand how important good planning and clear organisation are in making events run smoothly and making the most of available resources. As your treasurer I’d work hard to ensure the society’s finances are managed carefully and transparently.

I’d love to help the society continue putting on fun, accessible events and create a welcoming environment for everyone. I’m really excited for the opportunity to work with all of you!
