Hi! I’m Anhelina, and as a proud Ukrainian and active member of the UCL community, I’m excited about the opportunity to support the Ukrainian Society by joining the committee as a Welfare Officer.
My motivation stems from a deep personal connection to my heritage and a strong desire to help create a supportive, inclusive environment where Ukrainian students - and those interested in our culture - feel heard, valued, and at home. I believe that emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging are essential to a thriving community, and I’m passionate about fostering both.
Through my past experiences, including mentoring students at Queen’s College and working in collaborative, people-focused roles during my internships, I’ve developed strong interpersonal, organizational, and empathetic communication skills. Whether it’s providing one-on-one support, helping new members settle in, or creating initiatives that promote wellbeing and connection, I’m committed to being someone members can turn to - approachable, dependable, and always ready to listen.
More than anything, I care deeply about helping others feel safe, supported, and connected. I would love the opportunity to contribute to the Ukrainian Society by ensuring that everyone - no matter their background or experience - feels welcome and empowered to be part of our vibrant community!
