Somali Society: Welfare Officer

I'm running for Welfare Officer because I deeply value community and inclusivity. A welcoming society is one where everyone feels supported; i aim to ensure that the Somali Society champions these values. Studying Politics and IR has shown me how vital these values are for a thriving society. As a Somali woman, I understand the importance of representation and ensuring diverse voices are heard. I'm committed to making our society a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for all. I can’t wait to join the committee, and i look forward to working with you all!

I would like to become the Welfare officer as I believe that the most important thing in regards to a societal committee is ensuring that everyone is heard and understood. I am a Psychology student who is good with people so I believe that I could be a great mediator when it comes to attending points of concern, from members and from the committee.
