Skate Club: President

Hi I'm Faris :D I want to be president of Skate Club because this community has genuinely been one of my favourite parts of my time at uni. I joined in the first term, not really knowing anyone, and it quickly became somewhere I felt most at home. I've made good friends, improved my skating, and even tried other forms of skating like longboards and inlines. 

This past year I've been lucky enough to be on the committee as Skateboard Captain. It's given me insight into how the society runs and what it takes to organise sessions, support members, and generally create a fun space for skaters of all abilities. I've loved helping newer skaters find their feet and watching the community grow more confident and close-knit over time.

As president, I'd love to keep building on that. I'd also want to collaborate with other creative or sport-focused societies, as some of the sessions I've enjoyed the most have been alongside Parkour society or Imperial's Skate society. Skating overlaps with so many scenes, and I think there's a lot of potential to do more if there's interest. 

I’m looking forward to potentially building on all the ideas I have, and I’d love to be the president of the best society at UCL ;)
