Pi Media: Design Officer

Hi all, I'm Aleksandra, I have just finished my first year of Politics and International Relations. Building on my experience this year, both academically and creatively, I am excited to express my interest in the role of Design Officer for the university’s printed magazine. Having previously contributed as an illustrator for this year’s issues, I have developed a strong understanding of the magazine’s visual identity, production timeline, and collaborative workflow. This hands-on experience, paired with my broader involvement in student societies, has equipped me with the creative and organisational skills essential for this position.
My background in student societies includes leading small creative teams, and coordinating design deliverables for events and campaigns. These experiences taught me how to balance aesthetic vision with practical constraints, and to work effectively with both content creators and editorial staff to produce cohesive, high-quality materials.
As Design Officer, I aim to uphold the magazine’s distinctive visual language while introducing fresh, thoughtful design elements that enhance reader engagement. I believe good design not only supports but elevates storytelling, and I’m committed to ensuring every issue reflects the creativity and diversity of our student body.
