Hi all, I'm Zac, a first-year Philosophy undergraduate, and I’m running to be Treasurer.

I've really enjoyed the events the society has hosted this year,  from logic workshops to socials and speaker events. I've found the society engaging, and it's been good to meet with students from other years.

As treasurer, I'd be responsible for managing the society's finances, and I see this as an opportunity to get involved with the committee and help expand what we offer. Every social and talk depends on effective budgeting and communication with the Union, so I understand the importance of the role. I hope that by being treasurer, I can help the society put on more of these events. My part-time job at home requires managing payments and bookings for an events company, so I hope that this relevant experience can be of use to this role.

Anthony Nkyi

I am standing for treasurer as Philosophy Society as we need someone driven, honest, and forward-thinking to handle the society funds. Having been readily involved with PhilSoc in my first two years, attending many socials and being published in the Bentham Digest both years, I fit the profile and now I want to give back to such a wonderful society.

I have excellent experience handling funds as the Sponsorship & Careers Officer for the African & Caribbean Society, where we neared five figures in sponsorship income and built strong relationships with global giants like L’Oréal and Macquarie Group. This role taught me the importance of wise financial strategy and being open to collaboration.

As treasurer, I aim to provide more financial clarity and budget decisively so we can support a greater range of events and bigger incentives for the Bentham Digest’s top writers. Meanwhile, I want to push for more collaborations with other societies and universities. If elected, I want to make this the best year yet for PhilSoc, both financially and socially.
