Marketing and Advertising Society: President

MarkAd has truly been a place I’ve supported and could develop my marketing skills. The committee have made me feel appreciated for my efforts and proud to be a part of this team and community. The positive and relaxed tone that was set by our President is very unique and I hope to maintain this tone as President next year. I’ve had experience making schedules, agendas leading teams during my time as a prefect and chair of school committees in 6th form. However, why I’m most excited for this role is the challenge and opportunity for growth it presents as a leader. As a promotions executive I’ve grown confident in my ability and found a love for content creation, but I want to make a greater impact in the society as a whole. As President I would use my involvement between the teams in the committee to implement more ideas. For example collab events with our fellow UCL societies (e.g. Film Marketing events with the UCL Film Soc) but also with Marketing/Business societies in other schools  (something similar to MUN).  As President I will promote a light hearted and encouraging environment that strives for adhocracy and understanding. I’ll put an emphasis on keeping a consistent line of communication in the committee which will allow for greater flexibility and information transfer in the face of unforeseen circumstances e.g. mental health or coursework. Lastly, I’ll organise and encourage socials so the committee  and society feel more like a place to work together with friends.
