Originally from Goa,rich in sport and cultural vibrancy, my passion for sport is deeply rooted in my upbringing. Having actively participated in football, cricket, badminton, basketball socially and competitively, I’ve developed the coordination essential for planning and executing dynamic events. I believe that sport is not just about competition but about community, culture, values that lie at the heart of our society.
As Sports Director, I aim to create inclusive events that represent the diverse interests of our members. I also intend to champion overlooked indoor activities like board games, carrom, that hold nostalgic value for many. My goal is to ensure everyone participates, whether through competitive tournaments or relaxed socials.
Leadership and dedication are crucial for this role. As Head Boy in secondary school and sixth form, I led projects liaising between staff and students. It strengthened my ability to manage teams, work under pressure, and advocate for collective interest, skills I will bring to UCL Indian Society to foster a welcoming and spirited sporting culture.
Sport is a vital part of my life, playing football weekly and previously training at a youth futsal academy. It’s more than a pastime; it’s a source of discipline, resilience and joy, and I aim to share that passion with our community.
I would be grateful for your vote to help bridge sport and culture, and to contribute to strengthening the vibrant, supportive community the UCL Indian Society is known for.

Dear Committee,
I am writing to express my interest in the role of Sports Director. Balancing my studies in Medicine with a love for sports and robotics has taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities I plan to bring to this role. I am fully committed to making this vision a reality and ensuring a sustainable sports programme.
On-Field Experience: I’ve represented UCL at NHSF nationals in Kho Kho and am actively involved in cricket and rugby from school, bringing a competitive edge and team spirit to all sports activities.
Leadership & Initiative: I launched a climbing group for medics that has become a key weekly activity, demonstrating the importance of initiative and building community.
New Ventures: I’m exploring setting up a Kabaddi team at UCL and excited to introduce sports like cricket and netball into our society’s roster. I plan for inter-society fixtures and university-wide games to create lasting connections.
Collaborative Spirit: Through my robotics experience, I’ve worked with teams and sponsors to secure funding and collaborations. I look forward to partnering with the treasurer and sponsorship director to ensure we have the resources for new kits and equipment.
I am committed to ensuring that UCL Indian Society’s sports programme grows and thrives. With my experience, energy, and passion, I’m excited to contribute to making the upcoming year memorable for everyone involved.
Thank you,
Hitesh
