I am excited to run for the role of Marketing Officer for UCL Indian Society. I am eager to enhance the society’s promotional strategies and ensure our events reach and engage a wide audience.
– As a social media manager for a lip gloss brand, I successfully created engaging content and boosted online presence, these are skills I will bring to Indian Society.
– Attending an online art summer school gave me hands-on experience in digital art and ad creation, teaching me how to design visually appealing and impactful promotional materials. I have also always been interested in art and photography so I have experience in aesthetics.
– I understand the importance of consistent branding and engaging marketing, and I am ready to dedicate time throughout the year to elevate the society’s image.
My Plans:
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing and the committee to explore new marketing techniques, including short-form video content and interactive campaigns.
- Use Photoshop, digital art, and creative design to produce high-quality posters, videos, and social media content.
- Implement innovative strategies to increase engagement across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, ensuring maximum reach for our events.
- Continue on from this year’s marketing team to maintain a cohesive aesthetic for Indian Society that strengthens its identity and appeal.

Hi, my name is Mahathi and I’m running for Marketing Officer of UCL Indian Society. This society represents more than just events – it is a celebration of culture, community and identity so this role for me is an incredible opportunity to connect with my culture and help others to do so as well. I want to help the society grow even more than it already has, I hope to foster more and deeper collaboration with other cultural societies at UCL and even extend it to universities across London. Building these connections and relationships will create more diverse and inclusive events that everyone can enjoy and feel a part of.
I bring experience from participating in the Young Enterprise competition, where my team were Essex finalists. During this experience, it was important to utilise social media and organised events to reach and appeal to a wide range of audiences to maximise selling our product. During this, I was also a photographer, my role encompassed managing campaigns on the social media and creating marketing content to help shape our visual branding. This enabled me to develop strong organisation, teamwork and communications skills which I will be able to put to good use when working with other committee members as part of a team.
I am excited to bring new ideas, perspective, creativity and genuine commitment to this role! Thank you.
