I’m running for Sports Officer because I want to help strengthen the sports side of HinduSoc and make sure it’s as welcoming and engaging as possible. Sport is a brilliant way to build friendships and boost wellbeing, and I’m keen to make it a bigger part of the society experience. I’ve been involved in sport consistently at UCL through the civil engineering badminton society and understand the effort it takes to organise teams, fixtures, and socials around it. My leadership and time management skills from RAF cadets will help me run regular training sessions, promote sports events, and work with the Social Secretary to deliver great sports socials.

Sport is an integral part of my life and something that I am very passionate about, whether it be playing , watching or spending my free time reading completely useless statistics. I want to apply that passion into this role and continue to grow the sport sector of our society.
As a fresher, sport has been key to my Hindu Society experience so far and has kept me physically active. I have made good friends through football and kho and have felt more involved with the society. I would like to create even more opportunities for our members to participate in a variety of sports, both socially and competitively, regardless of skill or experience.
Furthermore I have looked up to both Ishaan and Neel this year, so I would love to be a role model to freshers next year as they are for me.
I enjoyed captaining our football team at nationals, and I would really enjoy having a responsibility within each sport, not only relating to tactics, but also keeping team morale high. Seeing the support on the sidelines this year made me feel as if our sports teams form a small family within the Hindu Soc family, an energy which I would love to fuel through more socials and mixed sport sessions.
In terms of competition, I am very motivated to ensure that we do better at next years’ nationals across all sports, and I want to do everything that it will take to turn us into winners, including regular and better attended training sessions.
Overall I would love to be a part of improving Hindu Society

One of the key principles of Hinduism, for me, is the importance of learning and teaching. This is why I’m standing to be your next Sports Director. In this role, I’ll not only be able to teach the sports I specialise in but also continue learning — just as I did this year with Kho.
Sports have always been an integral part of my life. I’ve had experience both as a player and a coach in cricket, which has helped me develop not only technical expertise but also key interpersonal skills such as leadership, teamwork, and organisation.
If elected, I will ensure that all sports have well-organised training sessions that are accessible to players of all skill levels. Through my experience coaching cricket at school, I’ve learned how to structure engaging and effective sessions while keeping them enjoyable — and I aim to bring this approach to every sport.
Beyond training sessions, it’s also important that I work closely with my fellow Sports Officer to plan structured sessions and secure suitable venues. I also believe we should strengthen our engagement with other universities. If elected, I aim to organise joint training sessions, matches, and competitions with other universities — not only to help our teams develop and compete, but also to raise money for charity and build strong bonds within the wider community.
With my coaching experience, competitive background and passion, I believe I can enhance the sports culture in our society.

Sports have been a cornerstone in my life and having played competitively in badminton, tennis, track, hockey and netball, I have firsthand experience of the power of sport in uniting people and fostering a strong sense of community. I hope to extend this energy and enthusiasm to Hindu Society, by cultivating an inclusive environment in which individuals of all skill levels feel confident exploring new sports.
This year, I competed in the NHSF Nationals, representing UCL in netball and badminton, in which we secured second place despite minimal preparation. Thus, I am determined that with more frequent and comprehensive training, UCL can secure a victory at next year's Dharmic games.
One of my personal aspirations is to empower more women in sports. This will allow us not only to showcase the diversity of talent within our society, but also expand our presence at NHSF by enabling us to compete in events such as women’s football and kabaddi.
If elected I will:
-
Introduce weekly badminton sessions, by using my connections with RUMS and UCL badminton captains to facilitate court bookings and provide equipment
-
Organise regular socials and collaborate with other societies to expand the variety of sports we offer
-
Tailor specialised trainings across all sports for girls
With my competition experience, strong network within UCL sports and genuine passion, I am keen to elevate our competitive teams as well as provide people with the opportunity to discover new passions in a safe space.
