Theodore Spaliviero-Shaw

Hello! My name is Theodore, a first year med student who sometimes wonders why he didn't do a PPE (yes...exam season has been fun...to say the least).

Just like Labour's Plan for Change, as Treasurer I will also have my three foundations during my tenure. However, in my role I plan to be transparent with my fiscal rules; clear and committed to the priorities of the society and effective in enabling real change for the benefit of all members.

In line with the three foundations,  economic stability and sensible governance will be central. Every pound will be accounted for and used for the empowerment of members with a budget that works for everyone. Whilst national defence may fall outside the purview of this role, I will be committed to a policy of bolstering and strengthening the society finances to enable us to host more events, bring in more speakers and support new initiatives. Likewise, rather than locking down our borders, as Treasurer I will help ensure that through the power of fiscal responsibility, our society can grow - expand our borders - and build a stronger foundation within the RUMS community, but also UCL at large.

So, you may ask, what are my three main priorities for HeMP? Well, I will tell you: Transparency. Accountability. Opportunity.
