I want to lead God’s children closer to Him.
A lot of people feel distant from God simply because they make assumptions about His character: “I can’t come to God, I’m too far gone”, “God wouldn't love someone like me”, “God doesn’t want to hear from me”.
And to that I say...
Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
...because these fundamental mischaracterisations of God can only be dismantled by scripture and, if chosen to be Bible Study Coordinator, I'll ensure that we cover God’s Word in a comprehensive manner, relating it to real life struggles and misconceptions.
However, we are also called to be disciples for a lot longer than 90 minutes on a Monday (spoiler alert: it's 24/7/365). To be a Christian and live a Wordless life is like being an athlete, not training and expecting to see results; we need our daily bread to actually know God and navigate this life!! So, as Bible Study Coordinator I will also implement a VOCE reading plan to keep us in the Word every day!
I want to continue building an authentic relationship with God and cultivate a space where we can all do so. Highlighting the importance of God in our lives and mediated and discussing his word is necessary for us. So, I believe I’m called to do this!
