I would like to contribute to the game dev society!

Jennifer Huang

Hi, I'm the current Jams Officer.

I’m running for Welfare Officer because I want to help make the society a friendly and inclusive space for everyone. Having been on the committee this past year, I’ve learned the ins and outs of how the society runs. I’ve also served as a Welfare Officer in other societies, so I understand how to support people and promote wellbeing.

Ahmad Arefin

My name is Ahmad Arefin, I am currently a second-year undergraduate History student. I am incredibly excited at the opportunity to stand for the position of UCL Game Development Society Welfare Officer. I have always been interested and passionate about video games and game development and was very excited to hear that we now have a society for people aspiring to make games or be part of the games industry. I love learning about and playing games from all genres, but I particularly love platformers, RPGs and roguelikes. And while I have not made my own game yet, I believe that gaming has a place for everyone, and I want to do all I can to help people work on making their projects come to life.

I believe that mental health and wellbeing is incredibly important, and I am committed to ensuring that the society continues to be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone. I will be friendly, supportive and approachable, and make sure all members feel included, represented and heard. I understand that making your own game can be difficult or stressful, but that is why I will do all I can to make sure the society is there to help you on your journey. I want to make sure that no matter what you're going through, you can always reach out for help. I will also always be open to feedback and advice, and will work with the rest of the committee to work on making the Game Development Society even better.

I hope that you will consider voting for me as Welfare Officer in the by-elections!
