The Economists' Society: Director of Social Events

As an FYR, I contributed to organising a range of events, giving me an insight into the behind-the-scenes logistics of the running of this society's events. Looking ahead, I have several ideas to strengthen engagements within the society. One initiative I'd like to introduce is Econ Soc Families - a fun, informal mentoring scheme pairing older and younger memebers into small families to encourage cross-year friendships and support. A key goal is to ensure the David Ricardo Ball takes place next year. While it unfortunately fell through this year (due to competence issues at the SU), I believe that earlier communication and forward planning with the SU can deliver a successful and memorable event.
