Data Science Society: Vice-President

Hi, I’m Louis, second year Science and Technology Studies student, and I’m running for Vice President of the Data Science Society.

Over the past year, I’ve led my departmental society and the AI Soc's project teams (Nexus Labs), gaining hands-on experience in organising events and engaging with the broader tech community. These roles have deepened my interest in data science, ML and AI and given me a strong understanding of how to build and sustain an active, inclusive student society.

As VP I’m committed to:
- Fostering collaboration through initiatives like hackathons and long-term group projects that encourage peer learning and creative problem-solving.
- Expanding industry engagement by organising talks, panels, and networking events with professionals across sectors—showcasing data science's real-world impact and interdisciplinary applications.

My goal is to help shape a society that supports curiosity, intellectual growth, and a strong sense of community, welcoming members at all stages of their data science journey.
