After appearing in the Country & Folk Music society Term 2 showcase, I was able to gather a greater impression of the importance of society. The society embraces instrumentalists with such a variety of skill sets whether that be playing the banjo whilst singing, playing fiddle or even the concertina! It is important that spaces exist for these specialised skills to be nurtured , cultivated and celebrated!
I also love how much Country & Folk music styles have been adopted in popular music charts and would like to help expand this society's membership and visibility by capitalizing on this genre's emergence in the mainstream!
As Treasurer, I will endeavour to ensure that the society's funds are utilised to support members' welfare (through snacks!) and any other materials (instrument damage financial support and socials funding!)
