Hey I’m Xanthe, and I’m excited to run for one of your fundraisers for 2025/26!!

Since my fresher year, I have been astounded by the effort RUMSBC as a whole puts into fundraising efforts. Whether it be the enthusiastic signing up for late night ergs in the Ergathon, or the willingness to grow some hair (or lose some) in the name of charity, it’s fair to say that RUMS boat can take the gold in their charitable endeavours. I’d like to continue the Ergathon and Movember, as well as maybe making more charity run efforts, by gathering interest in 10ks, half marathons and the like early on to coordinate and support specific charities that mean more to us as a club.

Having heard many a compliment on our beautiful boat club stash, particularly our BUMSBC joggies, I’m enthusiastic to continue expanding the kit selection for rowers (how do we feel about RUMSBC Canterburys?). Moreover, I’d like to make the vinted spreadsheet more accessible, especially to new rowers.

Perhaps you ask if I have the grit required for a dedicated RUMSBC fundraiser? My year as Orchestra Manager has shown me doing the heavy lifting for UCL Music Society (literally). Experience in ticket selling, sheet music rental, and dealing with the Student’s Union are all transferrable communication skills I will use as fundraiser.
