Anisha Bhatia

Hi everyone! My name is Anisha, and I’m a first-year Biomedical Sciences student running for President of the UCL Biopharmaceutical Society. My goal is to make this society the ultimate hub for career development, networking, and building lifelong friendships within the biopharmaceutical industry.

Having benefited immensely from the society’s mentorship and events in my first year, I’m passionate about giving back and ensuring every member has the same opportunities to grow academically, professionally, and socially.

If elected, I will:

Expand Career Opportunities: Organise weekly networking events, CV workshops, and internship application sessions. Also, arrange lab visits and office tours at leading Pharma companies.

Create Academic & Social Balance: Host regular socials, panel discussions, and skill-building workshops to build a strong community.

Practical Skill Workshops: Develop lab skills, data analysis, and scientific writing workshops to help members excel in interviews and beyond.

With experience in leadership, event coordination, and community building—having led a non-profit for 4 years with a team of over 200 people and organised multiple large-scale events (with my largest involving over 600 people!)—I’m confident in my ability to deliver impactful initiatives and foster a strong, inclusive community.

Let’s make this year unforgettable. Vote for Anisha as YOUR President, because she’s here to help you (bio)FARM(a) those opportunities!

Kenny Zhou

Hello everyone, my name is Kenny, and I’m a second year Biomedical Sciences student at UCL.

I’ve been an active member of the Biopharma Society for the past two years, and it’s been a great experience being part of this community. As I am approaching my final year, I’m excited to run for the President because I want to give back to the society that’s helped shape my academic and career journey. I want to help both new and returning members to the society and to UCL to explore the wide range of opportunities in biopharmaceuticals, whether you're interested in drug development, research, biotech startups, or pursuing a PhD. While my goal is to continue to bring academic and informative events with professionals, alumni, and other societies in the field to broaden the scope, I am also hoping to create more diverse events that are fun and engaging like pub nights. Biopharmaceutical can sound quite intimidating or exclusive, but this society could be a space that is fun and supportive, and I hope is where everyone can learn or find something meaningful to themselves.
