As treasurer of the Austrian society, I hope to assist the leadership in an efficient and reliable manner. I plan to fulfil the duties of treasurer to the extent necessary to allow the organisation of events equally engaging and enlightening as those which took place this year. To maintain this standard, the society will need an organised, reliable, and diligent person to fill the position. I was able to demonstrate those qualities throughout, for example, my 9-month civil service in the Austrian police. From regulating traffic to undertaking administrative work and assisting officers in everyday operations, I proved to be a trustworthy member of the team with an ability to make decisions quickly and offer effective solutions. In addition to this, I was elected as the second deputy of the representative of civil servants (Vertrauensperson) in the police for the second half of my service term. This included advocating for the needs of civil servants across multiple police stations in Vienna and processing suggestions and complaints. Moreover, the role allowed me to participate in mediation proceedings regarding disagreements between civil servants or disputes of the latter with police leadership. These qualities are vital to someone tasked with a position of responsibility such as treasurer. Having served my country in this way, I hope to serve the Austrian Society at UCL in an equally responsible and efficient manner.
