Hi everyone!

I’m running for Vice-President and Welfare Officer because Asiatic Affairs has been one of the most rewarding parts of my university experience so far. As Regional Representative for South Asia, I’ve really enjoyed being involved from reading the brilliant work others have written to attending events that offer space for both discussion and cultural appreciation. It’s a society that encourages curiosity and community, and I’d love to help keep that going.

As Vice-President, I’d support the committee with planning and coordination, making sure things run smoothly and contributing wherever needed to help the society grow. I’ve always liked the behind-the-scenes work that makes events and projects come together.

For the Welfare Officer side of the role, I think it’s so important that everyone feels like they belong, whether they’re super active in the society or just drop in now and then. I want to be someone people feel comfortable talking to, whether that’s about ideas, concerns, or just to feel a bit more connected. Back in secondary school, I was House Captain, which gave me some early experience with organising things, working with different people, and being part of a community, which I’ve naturally carried on doing at university.

Asiatic Affairs has been a highlight of my year, and I’d really appreciate the opportunity to take on a bigger role and support the society and its members in the year ahead. Thanks so much for reading, and I hope to have your support!
