Election post
Hi all, my name is Adedeji (though mostly known as Deji), and I would like to put my name forward to represent UCL ACS as next year's Male Sports Officer.
Throughout the majority of my life I have actively been involved in the sport of Basketball and have gained many valuable opportunities and experiences through it. Over time, I've come to appreciate how important physical activity and sport are—not only for health, but for building connections, encouraging interaction, and creating a stronger sense of community. If I am nominated for next year I will try to establish multiple inclusive ACS sports teams which can compete not only within UCL but also with other university ACS societies. I will ensure frequent social events so people of all skill levels can come and participate to help strengthen our bonds and friendships.
While I have a clear understanding of basketball, it is apparent to me that I am less experienced in other sports. That's why I will ensure to always take on suggestions from all members and remain approachable as is to create a space where everyone is heard equally. I am completely open to seeing and hearing what events would be preferred year-round and I will work with you guys to make this a reality.
Ultimately, whether or not I am chosen, what matters the most is the fact that ACS to build a strong healthy sporting foundation next year. I wish the best of luck to everyone applying and would like to thank you for taking you time to read my nomination.
