Election post
Hello everyone! I’m Tan Wei, a year 2 BSc Politics and IR undergraduate and I’m running to be General Manager of PRIS!
Why am I running? Broadly, I’m driven by a passion to be more involved in the scene and, more importantly, to do my part for a society that serves as an important platform for its members to pursue their passions in the world of political risk, intelligence and finance, and gain insights into these industries!
Why the position of General Manager? I find the role to be vital – in ensuring the society’s smooth administration, the General Manager guarantees that the society can focus on serving its members. Furthermore, having served as Secretary in UCL’s Singapore Society and possessing a penchant for organisation, there is alignment between my personal qualities and the role's functions.
If elected, I will ensure that PRIS runs like clockwork by ceaselessly identifying areas to streamline internal administration, through optimising the organisation of documents to ensure ease of reference by committee members and thus enhancing efficiency. I will also seek to strengthen the committee’s cohesiveness through vitalising internal coordination. Finally, I will support my fellow committee members in realising our collective visions for the society.
It would be an honour to have your vote and I look forward to helping to establish strong foundations for PRIS as a nascent society, and serving its members!
