Hi I'm Kota, full year exchange student from Japan studying IR! Being interested in journalism, I joined Pi Media this year as a script writer and presenter of PiTV. This year, as a marketing officer, I want to raise the recognition of Pi especially on campus, in order to expand our journalistic influence. For this, I aim to:

1) increase the touchpoint between Pi and UCL students by frequently creating/displaying eye-catching posters, not only for recruitment or events but also for promoting our presence and journalistic value.

2) distribute weekly e-mail newsletters to those wish that briefly summarise the published online articles and PiTV videos of that week and create opportunities for people to access Pi Media on a regular basis.

3) collaborate more with other clubs and societies, for example by commissioning them to write an article on a topic related to their activities, and coordinate promotional campaigns on each other's information medium.

Though it has not been so long since I joined the team, I feel that Pi has the potential power to significantly impact more and more people's opinion and behaviour inside and outside UCL, and deserves more recognition for what we are doing. Having substantial knowledge in marketing/designing/photography and 2 years experience working as a public relations officer for another society back in Japan, I believe I am the person that can best contribute to promoting Pi's brand.

Marketing is a lot about communications, social media and arts, all things I'm interested in! Since I already have experience in social media, taking on the role of Pi Media marketing officer seems to be an exciting chance to explore the field. Would love to become more involved in society.

Reka Olah

I have been enthusiastic about writing since I enrolled in a journalism course after high school. Since then, I have worked as a writer and/or editor for several companies and projects, including an NGO, a travel company, and an EU-funded multimedia platform. Currently, I also write articles for Pi Online.

I would like to bring more of my skills to the amazing Pi community this year. I was often involved with the advertising side of the business in my writing jobs, and I also took on some marketing-specific roles during university. Besides working in several Student Ambassador roles, I have now been involved with the marketing campaigns of a recruitment company for 1.5 years. I believe I could bring some fresh ideas and creativity to the Pi society - and I cannot wait to start working with fellow writing enthusiasts!
