Abi Rutter

As a candidate for the vice president position, I bring a blend of passion, skill, and leadership to the photography society. I have been working on my digital photography skills for several years (hoping to work on film photography currently), exploring street, architecture and abstract photography showcasing my artistic skills, which I also put to use through my studying of architecture, but also demonstrating my commitment to the craft. I would use a collaborative approach and effective communication skills to foster/maintain a supportive community within the society - encouraging the sharing of ideas, perspectives, photographic references, and our own work. Additionally, I would be excited to introduce and support the running of fun workshops and organise engaging events, competitions, and talks with guest speakers whilst providing inclusion of everyone’s photographic interests within the society and aligning seamlessly with the society’s growth and development. With my dedication to promoting inclusivity and creativity, I hope to inspire fellow members to explore new horizons in photography and, importantly, support beginners with their photography journey as we learn together!
